Finance Committee

The Finance Committee supports the Board of Directors by assisting with financial planning, budget development, and long-term fiscal review for the Association. The committee helps evaluate financial information and provides recommendations to support informed decision-making.

The Finance Committee does not approve spending, set assessments, or establish policy. Final financial decisions are made by the Board of Directors in properly noticed meetings.

COMMITTEE FOCUS

The Finance Committee focuses on reviewing and supporting the Association’s financial planning, including:

  • Annual budget development and review
  • Long-term financial planning and forecasting
  • Review of financial statements and reports
  • Reserve planning and funding considerations
  • Providing financial recommendations to the Board of Directors

Committee focus areas may vary depending on the needs of the Association and direction from the Board.

WHAT THE FINANCE COMMITTEE DOES NOT do

The Finance Committee does not manage day-to-day financial operations or handle individual account matters. The committee does not:

  • Approve spending or authorize payments
  • Set dues or assessments
  • Manage collections or delinquent accounts
  • Provide financial advice to individual homeowners

Questions related to individual accounts, billing, or payments should be directed to the AMS, the Associations management company.

HOW THE FINANCE COMMITTEE PROCESS WORKS

The Finance Committee works collaboratively with the Board of Directors and the Association’s management company to review financial information and provide input on budget and planning matters.

  • Reviews financial reports and planning information as requested by the Board
  • Discusses budget and reserve considerations during committee meetings
  • Provides recommendations and feedback to the Board of Directors
  • Supports transparency by helping explain financial considerations during the budget process

Finance Committee discussions are advisory in nature. Recommendations are reviewed by the Board of Directors, and final decisions are made by the Board in properly noticed meetings.
